‘Connecting the Tree and the Foot’ is a four speaker sound piece examining the relationship between humans and the extended lives of trees past their natural life.  The historical context of the gallery floor which is a sprung dance floor has been reserached.  Vibrations have been a historic concern with the floor and in this piece these vibrations are celebrated.  Not long after the floor was laid glasses of water were used to test the size and effect of vibrations from the gallery floor to the galleries bellow; in this work they are used as ways of us seeing the interaction we have with the floor.

This is a reciprocation and you are invited to participate by using the floor.

Limited Edition run of handmade artist books.

A small book of images and text with an audio download of the audio from the install mixed for stereo.

Including some of the text from the Guardian article that helped inform the process of the work from the announcement about the gallery being built. Also a short piece of writing about the works concept.
